Musical Theatre of Anthem

Summer Workshops

MTA offers extensive summer workshops for ages 3-adult. Our participants are guaranteed to learn a TON of material in dance, tap, voice, acting, and improv. Performing artists never stop learning and can always benefit from a professional program like ours. The instructors have Broadway, Off-Broadway, World and National Tour experience, and are awarding-winning in their disciplines. MTA only hires the best and we will offer you intense training to prepare all levels.

Ages 3-5 will participate in MTA's Minis Program where they will focus on various aspects of an MTA show: Vocal Technique (projection, annunciation, tone, blending as a group), Dance Skills (coordination, synchronization), Showmanship, and Basic Theater Terminology.

Participants in the 6-18 age group will participate in MTA's renowned Summer Performing Arts Institute (SPAI) where they will rotate between the various classes and instructors in their specialties. The material includes selections from the upcoming season and there will be live performances showcasing what the participants have learned in the two week period.

For our older participants we also offer a master class series taught by incredible instructors with experience from Broadway and beyond.

Our talented instructors will challenge you in multiple styles of dance while some of the valley's best and most experienced Directors, Professional Actors, and Improv Experts will take you on a creative journey of discovery and work intensively in our program.

Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin' friends as they escape from their home in New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar. Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape with the help of some prodigious penguins to explore the world. Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will leave audiences with no choice but to "Move It, Move It!"
